This is one of a very few concertos written for oboe d'amore, a very beautiful but long neglected instrument. The work is in three movements: Grazioso, Andante amabile, and Allegro animato. It is 18 minutes in length.
The Port Angeles (Washington) Orchestra with Jackie LaRue soloist performed the premiere, and they subsequently took the work on their tour of Southeast Asia.
The composition was inspired by Jennifer Paull. She has founded a company, Amoris International, and my concerto is presently in production there.
This work is available from SheetMusicNow.
