Concerto for Violin and Orchestra

This work is my fourteenth concerto and I wrote it to be recorded by Master Musician's Collective. It is dedicated to the violinist Svend Ronning who performed its premiere in Prague in October, 1997 and made a recording.

The concerto is in three movements, Fantasia, Blue Nocturne, and Badinage. It is scored for woodwinds and brass in pairs, timpani, 3 percussion, piano, solo violin, and strings, and is twenty-five minutes long. The harmonic and melodic language of the work is modal/pandiatonic and the outer movements are energetically rhythmic.
