THIRD WRITING ASSIGNMENT (UNGRADED)
LENGTH: ONE PAGE (300 WORDS)
DUE IN DISCUSSION: MARCH 22 OR 23
This is a "rep," just like so many of you do at the Fitness Center. As with the first close reading assignment, start by finding a passage (not more than half a page) that interests you for the way it articulates or dramatizes or implies something significant about race or race relations -- in Page's, Harris' or Chesnutt's text.
And as before, begin your paper by copying out the entire passage. Then, in about 300 words, discuss in detail what you think the passage is saying. Be specific about what strikes you as significant in the passage (words, images, patterns, tone, &c.), and be clear about what you think those details mean.
