3.  Understand the fundamental principles and design objectives of the different components.

1. Will be able to calculate performance maps of each component (compressor, turbine, nozzle, etc.) as the component geometry changes,

2. Will be able to calculate performance of each component as the inlet and other conditions change,

3.  Will be able to vary geometry until given component design objectives are met.
