The joy of teaching comes from watching learning happen. Sometimes it seems as if a light bulb really does turn on. As a classroom teacher, I developed a great curiosity about what happened in students' brains when learning took place. I have spent the last five years exploring that question and am convinced that teachers improve their performance when they know more about the biology behind the behavior we call learning.
