ECON 202, Summer 2008

Welcome! ECON 202 is intended to give you an introduction to the field of macroeconomics. Specifically, the course is designed to help you understand the basics of aggregate economic activity and the effects of fiscal and monetary policy on national income, unemployment, and inflation. I may also cover topics in international finance.

While there is no formal prerequisite, you might benefit from taking ECON 201 (introductory microeconomics) before this course. Also, you might find it helpful to at least occasionally read economic news (for instance, check http://money.cnn.com/ or http://www.foxbusiness.com/).
