While you won't be able to read all the latest SLJ articles, you will be able to take a look at current at their Best Books lists for the last several years.

The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books

Here you can feel a part of the give-and-take of children's literature enthusiasts. You'll be able to access articles on authors and illustrators, take a look at what books have received starred reviews, and even visit the Blue Ribbon Dissents, books that didn't make it onto the list but were much loved by someone on the Blue Ribbon committee.

The Horn Book

A visit to this site will supply you with the table of contents from the current issue, as well as peek at books that have been reviewed. Following the link to the Hunt Club and conferences will open your eyes to the many conferences on topics in children's ltierature.


This American Library Association site lets you look at recommended books for readers of all ages. Most helpful for those of us who work with children are the divisons of Book for Youth into Books for Older Readers, Middle Readers, and the Young. You'll also be able to find information on the many medals and awards dispensed by ALA, including the Newbery and the Caldecott.
