Christoph Martin Wieland

Christoph Martin Wieland (1733-1813), like the German poet and writer Gellert, exerted a deep influence on the Classical period of German literature of Goethe and Schiller. Wieland, who spent part of his later life at the Court of Weimar, based much of his writing on Greek mythology and philosophy.
