Squint! Butternut and leaves of flint, Mutton-chops and double rent! These are things the madman sees, When angels shake the growing trees!

School! Books, pens, and excepted rule, Nine times nine, the Nile, King Lear's fool. These are things dumbmen learn, When rain lifts a greening fern.

Son! Rivers bold downhill run, To the sea, sun and fun! This is how moonbeams fell, To kiss his love so very well.

Sense! Hey nonny, nonny pence, A poem, four words make no quince! This is what madmen write, When they would prove their ink pen's mite!

Squintschoolsonsense, hey nonny-nonny pence!
