How far I've come
	From Carolina!
	Twenty years
	In time,
	Miles more than
	I can count,
	Aged from
	Without number.
	I pass over it
	All today,
	Four miles high,
	Captive of USAir
	And memories
	Slowly dimming
	But not yet forgot.
	The attendant
	Proffers me
	A mint.
	Years ago,
	Life itself was
	Sweet like candy, too.
	I knew
	So little!
	Life knew more
	And showed
	Me schooling
	Never stops,
	That candy
	Comes in many
	Not all sweet.
