I remember
	In the darkness
	So much
	About the light.
	I remember

	Arching over
	An old apple tree,
	While two new

	Of a '64 Rambler.
	I remember
	Passion that was
	Only puppy-love,
	But which
	Set a boy and girl
	On their roads
	To man- and
	Womanhood.
	I remember
	Dawn over
	Cotton fields
	And combines
	With spinning wheels
	And burning
	Autumn fields.
	I remember
	Leaving all that
	Behind--
