It is not
	The begging time;
	Not the time
	To slither
	On my belly
	Like a snake
	Before God
	And ask
	For all the useless
	Human things
	I want.
	It is
	The giving time,
	The touching time,
	The loving time.
	But the snake
	Ever coils,
	Tongue flicking,
	Smiling smugly,
	Where my heart
	Ought to be.
