Day 1: July 10

All players and families accounted for. One car is in the shop but that seems to be the only catatstrophe. We paraded at Cypress Gardens. There were hundreds of players there, many teams from Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, Maryland, Costa Rica, and Canada. Old friends spotted - Will Patton with his 14 year old team. After the ceremonies some of us watched a water ski show then went to EAT. We told Brooke, NO, she could not take a can of bug spray into the butterfly exhibit.

VICTORY!

The younger girls played an outstanding game against the Florida Vikings resulting in a win! The score was 48-26 Charlottesville. Steph Baer says, "There was more togetherness, we really looked like a team." David Purcell had to start off coaching the game because Coach Ely was with the older team. He coached the whole first quarter and at the end of that quarter we were ahead 20-0 (and have the pictures to prove it). Kelly Purcell said, "I don't think it was my dad's coaching because he kept calling our man to man offense when they were in a zone. It was the team."
