I'm absolutely thrilled to at last discover where "Blue Dog" really done it! I've been racking my brain for a long time just trying to remember what movie it was I had seen, as a youngster, that had been so silly and so wonderful! All I could remember was "Blue Dog did a dumb thing!" And this Indian woman sitting outside this mans hotel door, beating on her drum, singing some sort of Indian love song. My husband and I collect wonderful silly old Westerns, like "Support Your Local Gun Fighter" and "Support Your Local Sheriff" Ect... But I really wanted this old western with "Blue Dog". (Well believe it or not, just this morning, I came across an old cassett tape that my brother and I had made over 30 years ago, and here we were talking about "Three Guns For Texas". And we were busily making fools out of ourselves re-enacting all the wonderful, cazy parts to this movie, with Joy Riley "Hunka, Hunka!" and Linda Little Trees, and Blue Dog, of course.) So here I am on my tip toes with enthusiam, anxious to know whether or not it's possible to even get this movie on VHS. But even if it's not, Thank You for all the fabulous info about my long lost Western. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

I found your site while searching through stuff. The seach info I put in was Henry rifle (41 caliber). I am embroiled in a social war with my local library for installing a filter known as Webbalance. This device is in my opinion does stand in the way of my study of firearms. On at least seventy percent of the searches things like web based chat,or my biggest hinderance, this site is resricted because it has not been reviewed are the reasons for being refused. I am searching now for the one that came up in the 41 Henry search that it was refused because it contained porno. This is surely not right. If you would like to be included in my patition that I will be submitting to the library board please e-mail me.

Dear Webmaster: Please do not forget that on Sept. 16, 2005, it will be the 40th anniversary of LAREDO !!! We should all celebrate by writing to Universal Studios Home Video and requesting that Laredo be put out on DVD, both seasons. Thanks.

Comments on Firearms Terminology page:
Many factual errors:
Sawed-off shotguns were outlawed along with full-automatic weapons in 1934.
Some mentions of shotguns refer to calibre rather than the correct "gauge", excepting the .410, of course.
Mauser is mentioned only as a pistol -- but the numerous sporter-converted Mauser military rifles are also just called "Mauser".

Response: Thanks to Clyde for his helpful input. I checked and found we were both wrong on the year---it was 1938, and that correction has been made. I have made the addition on the Mauser, about which he is very right, and I'm thinking about how to use his observation about calibre and gauge in regards to shotguns. Suggestions and corrections are always welcome!

Comments on the Laredo pages:
Laredo was unlike most TV westerns you ever saw because of their mixture of humor, drama,& action. The actors all made strong impressions with their characters from tough, bellowing Reese Bennett, quick draw Chad Cooper, rugged & shrewd Joe Riley, worldy Erik Hunter,& stern but fair Captain Parmalee. I liked that they had plenty of humor in the show, which was mostly lacking in other TV westerns. And the fact that the rangers were not portrayed as perfect. They loved to brawl,off-duty as well as on,gambled, drank, chased woman,& pulled cons on one another as well as their captain. How refreshing from the stern, noble, flawless lawmen that proliferated the airwaves. There are rumors about reviving Laredo with a new cast, but I hope it doesn't happen as I cannot imagine anyone else in those roles other than the original cast. But a brand new TV western would be welcome since every fall we know we'll get "saturated" with still more crime.medical, legal series & sitcoms. We are long overdue for a good western.

Favorite Texas Ranger = Like them all but Reese & Joe would come first.

I have noticed in the guestbook Richard Archer's comments on voting for Laredo on dvd/video, I did send an email to Amazon enquiring about why/when/what/how Laredo was not on video/dvd. I assumed (wrongly) that I would be at the end of long list enquiring and it seems that I was the first to enquire about Laredo, and at the moment there were no plans to bring out a dvd/video on Laredo. Richard you need to do some more promotional work - well done so far though! Laredo web site excellent and worth more visits, thank you to everyone concerned in setting it up.
