WILLCUTT

Saturday, October 9, 1999

You and your family are invited to a reunion of the descendants of Lewis and Rachel Willcutt at 10:30 a.m. on October 9, 1999 at Lurleen B. Wallace State Park near Northport, AL. Any Willcutt, Wilcut, Willcut, or Wilcutt with Alabama roots is a descendant of Lewis and Rachel Willcutt, who were married in 1825 in Blount County, AL.

Lake Lurleen offers swimming, fishing, boating, and camping. A playground is near the reunion pavillion. Entrance to the park is $2 for adults and $1 for seniors and children 6 to 11. Bring a picnic lunch or food for a shared meal.

Please bring a small item for a donation to the reunion fund. These items will be auctioned at the reunion. Craft items, jellies, bric-a-brac, or even copies of family photos are welcome. Selected items will be awarded as door prizes.

Saturday, October 30, 1999

The descendants of JOHN TILDEN MUSGROVE (1793-1875) and NATHAN THOMPSON (ca. 1775-1850) will meet in Winfield, AL, on Saturday, October 30, 1999 at 11 a.m. at Musgrove Chapel United Methodist Church for sharing of family history. The gathering of these Fayette and Marion County families will be of interest to the following surnames: AYCOCK, ASTON, HARRIS, HOWELL, WEEKS, McDONALD, MUSGROVE, DODSON, THOMPSON, WEBSTER, EARNEST, SOUTH, COUCH, MORTON, STEWART, BERRYHILL, MOSS and others. All allied family members are invited to attend.

We'll be serving South Carolina Chicken Bog for lunch, so bring anything that's good with chicken and rice! Plates, napkins and utensils provided. Come earlier if you'd like to start visiting or help stir the pot.

Directions: From Winfield, take Hwy. 43 south towards Fayette. Drive about 5 miles to County Road #147 (Watch for Musgrove Family Reunion sign). Turn right. At the 4-way stop, go straight. At the end of the road, turn left. Musgrove Chapel is about 1/8 miles on the left.

ROBERTS

Saturday, September 18, 1999

A Roberts Family Reunion will be held for the descendants of Marcus Roberts at the Dora Community Center, Dora, Alabama on Saturday, September 18, 1999 from 9 AM until 4 PM. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish for lunch.

Marcus Roberts came into Walker County, Alabama before 1850 from Walker County, Georgia and settled land near the forks of the Mulberry and Sipsey Rivers. Marcus Roberts had at least 21 children. Some of his children were George Andrew, Hardin H., Sally, James H., William M., Marcus A., Levin, Lydia, Joseph G., Martin, Elisah, Mary J., Elmira, John, Elijah, Hester Ann, Caroline, Jesse. David and Robert.

The annual Wilson Reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999 at Sumiton Community Center, Main Street behind the Bozeman's and the Sumiton Post Office, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM. The reunion is for descendants of James Wilson and Dorcas Elizabeth Alexander Wilson. Washington P. "Doc" Wilson's descendants are sponsoring the reunion. Descendant surnames are WILSON, MYERS, ALEXANDER, McADAMS, TIDWELL, STAMPS, BRITT, AARON, BUZBEE, BARTONS, DRUMMONDS, and BRITNELLS. Bring a covered dish, old pictures of our ancestors, and stories that have been passed down.
