I've been a professor at the University of Virginia since the fall of 1997 and am in both the cognitive and social areas.

Broadly defined, my research focuses on higher order cognition; in particular I am interested in analogical, causal, and inductive reasoning; inhibition in memory; metamemory; and, increasingly, in what psychology can offer the legal system.

You can see a list of my publications or visit my lab website to see what we are working on now.

I teach courses in cognitive and social psychology; you can view descriptions of those courses.

If you want to learn more about me than you can possibly want to know, you can take a look at my vita.
